Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a medical art that has been developed and refined for well over 2000 years with countless documents outlining it’s efficacy in a variety of applications. In it’s classical form it is a characteristic and important component of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) clinical therapies. It involves inserting filiform (very thin) needles into the skin at specific points to stimulate or sedate natural healing and regulatory functions of the body, mind, and spirit. This is accomplished by stimulating flow and proper movement of different kinds of Qi through energetic meridians that extend and weave throughout the entire body. This can have direct affect to channels and meridians specifically, or have been shown to cascade through neuro-muscular and physiologic systems, chemical and hormonal influences, as well as emotional and spiritual well-being.
