Acupuncture

Natural, drug-free, pain relief and effective treatment for a wide range of chronic and acute illness.

It is a medical art that has been developed and refined for well over 2000 years. It involves inserting filiform (very thin and solid) needles at specific points to stimulate or sedate natural healing and regulatory functions of the body, mind, and spirit.

Acupuncture in TCM draws from traditional indigenous knowledge and modern understandings of how the body is connected.

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) clinical therapies include acupuncture as main treatment method, which recognize and interact with Meridians of Qi in the body. These channels stem from, and affect various organs, anatomical structures, and energetic mechanisms in different ways for each meridian. Treatment of often involves needle insertion, moxibustion, cupping therapy, Gua Sha, and a variety of other traditional techniques which may be appropriate for each specific case.

Sports Medicine

A diverse and specific range of diagnostic techniques informed by modern biomedical physiology, Chinese medical anatomy, and pathophysiology of orthopedics.

Injuries hurt. What makes this treatment system doubly beneficial is that it is paired with a wholistic diagnostic system that outlines how the isolated injury is affecting the whole body and is employed in part to manage those effects.

By assisting the proper flow of Blood and Qi, reducing inflammatory damage, and promoting regenerative activities within the body; these treatments can help the healing process occur much faster and in a way that can offer a more complete and vital recovery.

Depending on the specific nature of your injury or affliction, a session may include techniques of recovery from traditional martial art lineages, contemporary Motor Point Needling, TCM Acupuncture, TCM herbology for both internal and external application, Electrostimulation, Cupping, Gua Sha, Tui Na, and/or Moxibustion.

What is Mei Zen?

“Mei Zen” is literally translated as “beautiful person”.  In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the state of the physical health, emotions, and spirit is reflected on the skin of the face.  You look your best because your internal health is reflected on your face.

What cosmetic results might people expect from the Mei Zen Cosmetic Acupuncture System for the Face?

  • Improvement in the fine lines of the face and a diminishing effect on deeper wrinkles
  • Moisturized, softer skin and a more even skin tone
  • Improved muscle tone and firmer jaw line, as well as reduction in the beginning of jowls
  • Reduction or elimination of rosacea and acne.

What is ACUSCULPTING®?

ACUSCULPTING® is the world’s first and most effective cosmetic acupuncture system for both face and body. This unique protocol is designed to firm, lift, tighten and shape tissues and skin thereby ‘sculpting’ the face and body.

How does it work?

Cosmetic Acupuncture System utilizes an ancient needling technique that is very superficial. The needling brings increased Qi and blood to the face and can improve or increase the production of collagen and elastin.  Since this system is based in Traditional Chinese Medicine, I use acupuncture point selections on the body to complete the balancing of energy.  This results in an overall rejuvenating effect of body, mind, and spirit

Cosmetic Acupuncture & Rejuvenation Treatments:

A typical protocol begins with a consultation to determine your overall health and if you qualify for the procedure.  We will discuss your goals and if you are interested in the Mei Zen or Acusculpting protocols.
